What is the Minimum Qualification required for me to study in New Zealand?

You will need 3 passes at the GCE A/L or 2 passes at the Landon A/L or completion in another qualification. For more information you could contact one of our Counsellors at The Visa Centre.

I have my O/Ls after which I have followed some certificate courses in Sri Lanka. Do I qualify to study in New Zealand?

Yes, you can study in New Zealand starting with Foundation year leading up to Degree level.

How much would my studies and accommodation cost?

This depends on the type of course and the College/University which you decide to attend. One of our Counsellors at The Visa Centre will be able to help you find the best course and the College/University according to your needs.

What about financial background?

You should have a sound financial background. Too, you must find a sponsor who can support you financially during your higher studies. In most cases, sponsors must be blood relatives of the applicant. However, we could arrange a student loan facility for you. For more information on this you could contact one our Counsellors at The Visa Centre.

Can I take my family with me?

Yes, you could take your family along with you. For this you will have to show extra funds depending on the number of family members who would accompany you.

Is there any age limit for study in New Zealand?

In most cases no. However, it will all depend on prevalent criteria. You could find out more from the The Visa Centre Counsellors.

Can I apply for PR after completing my studies in New Zealand?

Yes, you can apply for PR on successful completion of your studies. However, this will depend on the Immigration regulations at the time of your applying.

Can I work part time while I study?

Yes, you can work a maximum of 20 hours per week during the semester and a maximum of 35 hour per week during your vacations.

Do I need to have health insurance while I am in New Zealand?

It is mandatory for students studying in New Zealand to obtain health insurance.

When should I plan to arrive in New Zealand?

At least one week before the orientation.

Can I get a student loan?

Yes, it is possible provided you have the security and ability to repay it.
