How do I qualify to travel to the UK as a student?
You must be able to show that you have been accepted for a course of study at an educational establishment that is on the UK’s DfES list. You must also be able to show that you could support yourself while you live in the UK.
I have done my O/Levels after which I have done some certificate courses. Can I study in the UK?
Yes, you can study in UK starting with the Foundation year up to a Degree level but to meet visa conditions you have to prove that you have studied beyond the GCE O/L.
How much would it cost me for my studies and accommodation?
This all depends on the type of course and the College/University which you decide to attend. Our Counsellors at The Visa Centre will be able to help you find the best course and the College/University according to your needs.
What about my financial background?
You should have a sound financial background. Also, you must find a sponsor who can support you financially during your higher studies. For more information on this you could contact our Counsellors at The Visa Centre.
Can I take my family with me?
Yes, you could take your family along with you. For this you will have to show extra funds depending on how many members would join you.
Is there any age limit for studying in the UK?
In most cases no. However, it all depends on different circumstances. You could find out more from The Visa Centre Counsellors.
Can I apply for residency after completing my studies in the UK?
This will depend on the British High Commission’s regulations at your time of applying.
Can I work part-time while I study?
Yes, you can work a maximum of 20 hours per week during term time unless your placement is part of your studies and has been agreed to with your educational institution.
Can I bring my husband or wife and children with me?
Your husband or wife and any children under 18 can come to the UK with you during your studies as long as you can support them financially and live without your needing any help from public funds.
When should I plan to arrive in the UK?
At least 1 week before the orientation.
Can I get a student loan?
Yes, it is possible provided you have the security and ability to repay it.
